MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA had made its
dept before INDEPENDENCE of INDIA in the year 1945 by name of MAHINDRA &
MOHAMMED as a steel trades making Ludhiana as their base of operations by the
persons Jagadish Chandra Mahindra and his brother Kalish Chandra Mahindra along
with Malik Ghulam Mohammed as partners, By the year of 1948 MAHINDRA &
MOHAMMED renamed as MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA with a full share of MAHINDRA
brothers, In the year 1949 Jagdish Chandra Mahindra had seen a chance to expand
his Brand as an assembly unit in India and as a result Mahindra had made its
dept into AUTOMOBILE SECTOR by taking up the license for car assembly from the
U.S.A car company Willy’s jeep and made production form the year 1950.
